CREATIVE IDEAS

Ideas that are valuable, unique, and genuine are considered creative. Any proposal that fits into this category is an excellent idea, but it's simple to lose sight of this reality due to circumstances beyond our control.

If you present an idea to someone you believe to be brilliant, and they reply, "I already thought of that!" Is the concept any less original now? A concept must be unique in order to be considered creative. But who is original? To those it is valuable, originality is the answer. It doesn't make your idea any less original or innovative just because someone else, someplace else had a similar or same idea.

A lot of us are reluctant to implement or share our ideas because "it's already been done." The idea is still valuable and original even if it has been tried before. There might be someone out there who hasn't heard of the concept yet, and for them, it might be original. Even an idea that has been conceived of before by someone else can be original.

Because of our initial perspective, context, culture, genetics, and upbringing, we each have a distinct perspective on any idea—even ones that are well-established and pervasive in today's world. Any idea can evolve if we add our own distinctiveness to it, which elevates it to the level of being truly creative.
